Even though I had access to book and other resources before middle school, middle school was when I really started to entertain the idea of reading. I became a library media assistant in middle school and that opened up a whole new world to me.
Initially, I became one because I was bored and needed something else to do besides go to school and back home. Reading can provide me with entertainment and increase my knowledge on various topics. On the other hand, I do not enjoy writing as much and feel it is more of a task that I need to complete. Boths of these activities are vital to my success in our educational system. As such, I look forward to learning how read and write in a more advanced fashion as I take the AP English Language course. I have seen a growth in my reading and writing ability in the past two years as a result of taking Pre-English classes. My grades began to drop tremendously, and before I knew it the quarter was closer to the end.
